Hi There!

Hi, I’m Vanessa, the creator behind VQ Visuals!

Photography has been my passion from the age of 11, my little purple camera practically an extension of me.

Over the years, this love for capturing art has only deepened, and I’ve turned it into both my career and a lifelong pursuit.

In my spare time, you’ll find me with a macro lens, capturing nature’s intricate details—from tree trunks to delicate flowers and the critters that wander amongst them,

I’m fascinated by nature’s patterns and love translating them into fine art.

When my camera battery is depleted and I'm all out of film, you can find me curled up on the couch with a good book, playing a video game (Baldur's Gate, anyone?), playing with my pet rats or strolling through my local nature trail.

A graduate of Niagara College's Photography program, I’ve spent my twenties refining my craft and sharing my knowledge through working at Henry's Camera, teaching private workshops, and leading photo walks for newcomers and hobbyists alike.
I specialize in fine art, portraiture, and product photography, with a focus on crafting authentic images that not only tell a story but also evoke emotion.

Currently based in the Niagara region, I’m always open to travel across Canada for new photo opportunities!

If you’d like to work together or just want to say hello, I’d love to hear from you!

You can reach me through my contact page or send me a message on Instagram.

My Work

I have had the pleasure of working with many awesome clients and brands!

From producing commercial work for Farm Boy, covering concerts and events with 12 Mile Productions, to capturing family portraits, I am so grateful to have the opportunity to create for so many.

I have been featured in the 2015 and the 2016 Niagara College Digital Photography Gala, was the very first recipient of the Niagara College Digital Photography "Big Heart" award, and have placed third in the fine art category of the 2016 NC Sickpix competition.

My work has been published in the Winter 2019 Issue of “The Lens” magazine, as well as in several Farm Boy seasonal advertising campaigns.

I also enjoy volunteering my time in working with local animal rescues and initiatives, most recently with Ottawa Rat Rescue, as an adoption intake photographer.
